Price Forbes is delighted to announce that Mark Searle, IATA’s Global Director for Safety, will be joining their LatAm Airline and Operators Forum, taking place in Bogota, Colombia, on February 5-6, 2025. This inaugural event will bring together key aviation leaders, insurers, and decision-makers for an exclusive two-day forum focused on how this sector can turn risk into opportunity, with a special focus on Latin America.

Mark Searle leads IATA’s efforts to enhance safety across the global aviation sector, overseeing a broad portfolio of safety initiatives including the IATA Safety Leadership Charter, Risk-Based IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit), and compliance with ICAO Annex 13 on accident investigations. His work plays a critical role in advancing continuous improvements in aviation safety, not only for IATA members but for the entire airline industry. Mark’s expertise spans a variety of strategic safety programs designed to support airlines in maintaining operational excellence.

With over two decades of experience, Mark previously led the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Safety Strategy team, where he was responsible for the UK State Safety Program and the safe integration of new aviation technologies. Prior to his regulatory work, Mark built an impressive career as a commercial airline pilot, amassing more than 12,000 flying hours, and served as Chair of the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA). His deep understanding of both the operational and regulatory sides of the industry makes him one of the most respected figures in aviation safety today.
